After wrapping up the three-month schedule in London, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and their team ‘83 members are back to Mumbai. The film is based on the India Cricket Team’s 1983 world cup win and the director, Kabir Khan, has mentioned that shooting in the UK for three months was like winning the World Cup, all over again. Ranveer will be seen as Kapil Dev while his real-life ladylove Deepika will play his on-screen wife too. Since the team is back to the bay, all of them will reunite to begin the second schedule of Kabir Khan’s directorial, which will take place in Mumbai.
Team ‘83 is ready to kickstart the three-week Mumbai schedule on September 10, confirms director Kabir Khan. Talking to Mumbai Mirror he said,
We will be shooting off and on with the entire team. During this schedule, we will be filming some of the interiors that no longer exist in London and have built sets for the same. The cricketing portions were completed in London. This will be the final schedule with the actors after which we will only be shooting what was happening around the country during the World Cup.”
Opening up about Ranveer and Deepika’s camaraderie in the film, Kabir added,
They are both super actors and marriage doesn’t make any difference to the way they act. It has just given them another level of comfort. Deepika was around our sets for more than just the days when she was shooting, not only because she’s one of our producers but as there is this sense of comfort.”
And this makes excited to watch ’83 ASAP! Ranveer and Deepika return to the big screen together after two years. Their last film together was Padmaavat by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In the past, they have created magic on the silver screen with films like Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Finding Fanny. With ’83, we are sure #DeepVeer fans will be in for a big treat.
